Hello, my name is Kevin and I was once a long term resident of the sober homes "Trinity by Traditions". I am an addict who had been through many different rehabs and halfway houses with no success, until 2009 when i got to Trinity and began this journey into my sobriety. I believe with my whole heart that if I did not end up there I would probably not be sober and alive today.
The owner Jason Leslie has played a huge part in my sobriety and life as a whole. There are a lot of places out there where I have witnessed owners being there just to collect a check on rent day. He is not one of those people. He was deeply involved with me as well as all the residents from the day I got there up until the present. He, as well as other residents, held me accountable and to a standard which would make me a better person. These homes taught me about responsibility, accountability, love for your fellow person and many other things. The structure and program that is set up is so important.
I had to get involved in a 12 step program, go to meetings, get a sponsor, a home group and work the 12 steps. I had to be accountable for where I was and what I was doing. All of this helped me so much to grow up and become a man. I would recommend these homes to anyone who honestly wants to change their life. There is a brotherhood that exists there which I haven't seen anywhere else.
This past March I celebrated 8 years in recovery and my life has never been better. I have my family in my life who at one time did not want to have anything to do with me. I'm a godfather to my brother's son. I have wonderful friends and a beautiful girlfriend. Most importantly I have self respect, self worth and peace of mind. I feel good about who I am today. I don't feel the need to take drugs or to drink alcohol. I owe all of this to many things, one being these homes.
